I'm in Banff for Christmas!

Hello from Banff… Yay another winter wonderland. OMG this place is just gorgeous. Only 1 hr 30 minutes from Calgary. I got a ride up here with a friend and received a warm welcome from Beck and her boyfriend in Banff. They are living and working on site at the Banff Springs Hotel. The hotel/castle itself is absolutely massive and you could certainly get lost in the place.

We’ve just been hanging out here in Banff and did some snowboarding on Saturday and Sunday up at Lake Louise. I finally purchased my very first snowboard downtown on Saturday afternoon. I’ll post a picture.. I think it’s way cool! I received a rather good deal, board, bindings, boots and helmet for $650 plus tax.

I’ll be up here staying with Beck and Johnny till about boxing day which will be lovely. I’m really enjoying the company, especially cause they are so close to home.

We hit the town last night after their Sunday evening church ritual of playing flip cup! It’s a Canadian drinking game involving, a table, cheering and screaming along with a lot of beer. Needless to say there were loads of drunk people after we finished in Beck’s unit. Cause they all work in hospitality, Sunday’s is big here in Banff and everyone just gathers in the one apartment to play flip cup, generally Beck’s.. hahah

Anyway, so xmas is fast approaching and I can’t believe I’ve nearly been here three weeks. I’m looking forward to starting work and getting into a routine. But I’m enjoying the time off before I head back to Calgary on Boxing Day.
