The "JOB" low down...

Soooooo – suppose you’re all wondering how the job is going right?!?! Well…there’s no other word to describe it but AWESOME!

I started at the club on the 27th! I managed to get in two days of work before another four day long weekend (being NYE). So then, back in the gym again on the 2nd of December after a fantastic NYE in Banff with all my Aussie friends. We partied till 5am and had a wicked hall party with a tonne of people from all over.

As you can imagine, getting back into a routine after one month’s worth of backpacking has been difficult… but not so bad, purely for the fact that I’m loving the work, and there’s no better way to describe it. It’s everything I wanted in a job as a personal trainer and even more. I was a little skeptical at first due to the fact their style of training is so different to back home… but I soon realised, and had to remind myself, that I needed to go into this experience with a very open mind. The trainers at the club have all done university degrees of some sort or another. So with that in mind there’s always something new to learn and I have no doubt over the coming months my skills and knowledge as a PT are sure to progress and advance. Woo hoo! No offence to those at ST, but this sure beats sitting behind a desk for 7 to 8 hours a day. I couldn’t have asked for a better work environment and circle of influence within the club! Needless to say I’m totally loving it – so far!

At the moment, I’m working long days with a very fickle schedule! My hours vary day to day because January being a busy month with a tonne of new members and their “new year’s resolutions”, which certainly, for a trainer trying to sell herself, it was a perfect time for me to start and build my business here! The Aussie accent certainly comes in handy, and is an awesome conversation starter, so there are certainly no quiet moments during my meet and greets.

Apart from work…. Well…. There hasn’t been much else to report! I’m back into my trainer regime and loving it. It’s time to stay on track after a fantastic, “indulging” month of backpacking. Hopefully on weekends I’ll be able to get up to Banff and Lake Louise to do some boarding. No doubt once I have a set schedule and Klint arrives, I’ll get up there more often.

Anyway, I sincerely hope all is well back home. To my family and friends, I think of you so regularly and miss the every day things about home and life in general. I certainly took for granted the simple things, mainly the weather and just how amazing Australia is as a country. But again, my home will always be Australia and I have no doubt time will fly and I’ll be home before you know it!

Oh I forgot to mention… for those of you who don’t know, Klint has decided to move to Canada to live with me which I’m totally stoked about. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. :YAY!!! Anyways, looks like he’ll be here end of January – early February at this stage. Klintos works in construction so no doubt there be tonnes of jobs all over the place for him. I’m excited at the fact he’ll be experiencing this amazing journey with me!

I’m finally off to bed now after another 13 hour day at the club… totally buggered! LOVE to all and sweetest dreams….
