LA TRIP - Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Santa Monica Beach!

Wow – what a fun weekend! Los Angeles and those crazy American’s… What can I say!

Where to begin…

I rose early Thursday morning to catch my flight to LA. The flight was rather long as we’d had a couple beers the night before, so I was feeling a little under the weather. Not to worry… seeing my brother was worth it. After spending 6 hours waiting for my brother in the Sheraton lobby using their free internet (oopppss hahaha). I met up with Joel and Sandra. They’d been up for hours on end as they’d flew from South America.

So we were staying at a hotel near Six Flags Magic Mountain (the home of the fastest and tallest thrill rides in WORLD). Yep, they’ve got something crazy like 19 rollercoasters. Although the place didn’t have the feel like Disneyland, the rides were sooooo crazy fun. After about 6 rollercoaster rides I was done. One of them actually caused me to have a blackout cause the G-Force. By the end of the day – my head was pounding, my feet were sore and all we were craving was one of dad’s steaks.

Unfortunately Sandra had to leave us at this time cause she was heading back to Brisbane early to go to her high school reunion. So it was just me and my big bro… we needed to feed the craving so we went to this Steakhouse and had a few beers and a steak – I’ve never felt so full – but Dad… they certain don’t match yours!! ;)

SATURDAY – OMG!!!! DISNEYLAND…. Well, I’ve never, ever in my whole entire life seen soooooo many people in one theme park. Joel and I though “Yeah, we’ll head to Disneyland about midday and then stay till late at night cause the park is open till midnight…” Well, big mistake… Those freakin Americans don’t care how long they are in the steaming hot sun, they just don’t give up… haha. Needless to say, we spent the whole day waiting in lines, and probably only got onto about 4 or 5 rides… but hell it was fun to people watch. The crowds were just unbelievable. We couldn’t believe how many people they’d jammed into this park and if any of you have been to Disney LA, you know how big it is. And apparently they weren’t to capacity.

So by the end of the day, we were stuffed. Stuffed from dodging people and watching people eat themselves silly. Yes, those american’s can eat. Ha! Having said all this, I had the best time with Joel. We went on some fun rides and just hung out, waited in long lines and ate yummy icecream and enjoyed the sunshine and each other’s company.

Sunday, we decided to do a bit of a road trip. We hit up Hollywood and the strip and even bought a dodgy $2 map of the movie stars homes for a laugh. We drove around Beverly Hills and checked out the massive houses that you can barely see cause of the massive gates in front of them. Hehehe… Yeah, it was so freakin hot outside we enjoyed the car’s air-conditioning and just drove around and looked at these mansions. So much fun!

After that we went down to Santa Monica Beach and then realized just how freakin nice our’s are in Australia – I take the Gold Coast and Sunny Coast for granted when I’m at home, but my god… our’s are freakin awesome in comparison.

Unfortunately, all trips must come to an end. Yep, it was time to say goodbye to my big brother and jet off back home (I guess it is home – well for now anyway) to Cow Town (Calgary). Don’t think Joely realized it, but I shed a few tears after saying goodbye. I totally loved hanging with my brother for the weekend and wish we could do it more often. I guess the past six months has flown by and no doubt the next six will. Thanks Joely for an awesome weekend… It’s one I won’t be forgetting in this life time xxx

I’m home today (Monday) with an empty house cause Klint and Pete are out camping for the weekend with friends. So it’s going to be a nice lazy day I think. Back to work tomorrow – hmmmmm – let’s not talk about that.

Signing off now… miss you all back home – TOOOOOOO MUCH! xxx

PS- I'm just waiting on Joel to forward me some photos to post - so they'll be up shortly!
