A quick run down!

Hey all,

Well, hope your Monday is going well for you back home! Yay, we finally moved out of the dungeon on the weekend - such a relief! Although when i first looked at this place about 6-7 weeks ago I didn't think this would be such a gorgeous home... Its amazing how the seasons change cause when we first looked at it, there was a foot of snow at the front door! We've certainly made it our own (after spending 600 bucks at IKEA). Anyway, so Klint managed to get off work early on Friday afternoon so we basically shoved all our crap into garbage bags and chucked it all into Klint's friend's ute and drove to the new place. We didn't realise how much stuff we've accumulated over the past 6 months - it's crazy! I can't imagine what it's going to be like having to go through it all when we eventually leave Canada - something I don't want to think about. So we had one full load and then just put Petrina's mattress on top of all the stuff on the ute. It was just our luck that we got caught in traffic and them a thunderstorm on what was suppose to be a 3-5minute drive to the new place. HA! So poor Pete had to sleep on a reclining chair the first night - but all good.

Saturday was spent cleaning up the old place and then we headed to the grocery store to buy a tonne of stuff to get us through the next few weeks. We spent about $350 on groceries - Ouch! But good thing is, we finally have a fridge that is full size so we can store stuff in the freezer. Unfortunately we had a little bar fridge at the old place and with three fit people in the house who eat a shitload - it wasn't fun! So after the groceries, we went to IKEA! So fun! We intended on just getting a couple things like washing baskets and sheets for the beds but ended up spending $600 on rugs and stuff to make this place home - money well spent i think! And Ma, you'll be happy to know, Pete and I bought a couple plants to look after over the summer - should be fun and I'll let you know how we go ;)

Anyway, so we didn't finish cleaning till about 6-7pm last night. We made this place look awesome putting up lots of photos and stuff. I wish you were all here to come visit us - hmmm perhaps you can visit! It's only a plane ticket over... right?!?! hahaha...

We had a few people over last night - LATE might I add. We sparked up the fire pit and had a few beers and intended on having a bbq. Pete and I went and got the gas bottle filled and all but unfortunately we couldn't get it working. Buuuttt.. the boys improvised and we cooked the steak and chicken over the flames from the fire pit. I must say, it tasted awesome! THANKS JR and Klint.

Anyway, so today we are just hanging out. We were suppose to go to the zoo today with a client of mine and her family but I'm so exhausted, I just needed a chill out day! I have no doubt we'll get to the zoo in a couple weeks though - in which case I'll try posting some photos.

Well, I think the three of us are going to get out this afternoon for a rollerblade and bike ride along the river. Oh did I mention the river is like 100m from our house! Yay! I'm not sure if you can see it from the photos but it's there! (CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS BELOW)

I miss you all back home immensely! Keep those emails and packages coming - which reminds me, I posted the new address in my last blog. I'd love to hear from you all.
