WE’RE GOING TO MEXICO!!!

OMG I’M SOOOOOO EXCITED!

How the hell did this come about you ask? Well, Klint and I both came home from work on Thursday night exhausted. Klint especially has been working non-stop, six days a week (most weeks) and usually 10-12 hour days. Now, this might not seem like much, but being out in the rain for three weeks has certainly taken it’s toll. These boys just don’t stop for anything. They work rain, hail, shine or snow and wear massive 20lbs tool belts, walking in and out of the hole, up and down muddy tracks. You wouldn’t get me doing it if you paid me a million, but Klint’s doing awesome and reckons it’s certainly hardening him up.

Anyway, so basically we are both earning and saving, but not really doing much at the moment to enjoy the fact we are on a “working holiday”. Cut a long story short, we both decided we are working our butts off and not really enjoying what this place has to offer. So, we’ve decided to head down to Mexico for a week. There is a lady at my work, Lynn who books holidays on the side (like a travel agent) and she’s assured us because we are going last minute (ie. 28th of June), that the deals we will be getting will be awesome. I’m talking, 7 nights accom, flights, all meals, all grog, sun, sand, beaches, pools… you name it and probably 5 star too for under $1,000.00. So Cancun, Mexico… here we come! Whoooooo!

So, with all that in mind, we have two weeks left of work. This week I’m at the rehabilitation course and next week things are looking slow at the moment, then we are off to Mexico. Oh and the week we get back will be Stampede week, so effectively we probably will be partying and enjoying ourselves for two full weeks. Like I’ve said before… this town goes crazy for stampede, barely no one works, and there is no chance people will be exercising. They are outdoors with their cowboy boots and hats, going to Stampede parties, rodeos, pub crawls and are apparently drunk for 10 days straight. Fun fun…. I have no doubt I’ll be posting photos cause I wanna get a camera duty free when we head to Mexico.

Anyways, so things are look fun for the summer, well at least for the next month or so anyway. Come mid July (when Stampede is over) I have a softball tournament weekend up in Edmonton for work. Apparently all the employees of World Health Club put teams into this event and WHC funds most of the weekend away. I’m not sure where we are staying but I heard they were thinking of camping this year so that will be awesome fun – and I haven’t seen Edmonton yet, so I’m super excited to hopefully be shopping in their massssssiiiiivvvveee mall.

Then the following weekend (end of July), we are getting a group together for a white water rafting trip. It’s something like $150 for a full day of rafting up in the rockies and looks like there’s a big group of us going!

Anyway, I best be off. The sun is finally shining here today and Klint and I are going to hit the gorgeous green park to throw the frisbee around.

Hope all is well back home… Write me soon! LOVE TO ALL
