WOW - where do i begin... So, as you can tell from my title... I'm having the time of my life.
So basically I havent slept much since i left Australia. I'm very jet lagged and by about midday i'm ready to crash but all good. The vibe here on the ship brings me to life and I don't think i could take a nap anyway cause i'm just having so much fun! I'm averaging about 3-4 hours each night, as we work most evenings and don't finish till about 2am.
Day 1 was spent waiting in alot of lines to board the ship. Nobody really tells you to go anyway, so i was just following the crowd and defending for myself. I still still get lost going to work every day, but my supervisor (Issa) is hard core and tells me not to worry and that i'll get use to it. Finally I got on the ship then to wait in more lines! I got shown around in a hurry and then after a bit of training for people I met my supervisor and the ship finally left Miami that afternoon. I was on the rock wall all afternoon into the evening. There's only three sports staff on board, Issa (my supervisor), Adrian who is an Aussie and who's finishing his contract in Jan and myself. THe boys are awesome and I love hanging out with them. We have so much fun on the wall, listening to loud music, with nothing but fresh air and gorgeous blue water. After being on the wall all arvo we had dinner and then had to do a 70's show. I have to learn all the dances and we bascially all dress up and may idiots of ourselves and the guest just lve it. I felt like a super star cause they wanna take pics with you and everything. So then it was off to the crew bar where the boys persisted to get me blind as a welcome present. hahaha.
I was up early for 8am on day too. With only 3 hours sleep under my belt i made it on time. I spent two hours that morning with Issa constructing a ping pong table and played basket ball with guess. I cna't complain. Then we didn't have to be back on the rock wall till late afternoon so Issa took me off Majest where we had lunch at Nassah (I think that's how you spell it). We spent all arvo on the wall then had to do "spots" which is where we have to go to the Majesty of the Seas dance and show and do the spot lights. I felt important as I had this big thing on my head waiting for ques from the head technical guys. So midnight hits and we are off to pool side where we do dancing under the stars. Again, all new dances, and we dress up in hawaian outfits. So fun... The boys make fun of me cause i have no idea what i'm doing and make up my own moves. Its cool though, cause the other aussie Adrian can't dance either.
Yesterday.... hmmmm I'm losing track.. Oh umm, I got off the ship again yesterday in Cocco. Issa and I had to do a volleyball tournement and then some family olympics thing. So fun. For extra money i can do some additional stuff on the side and help out with the snokling and wave runners on the island if i want to. It really does feel like a holiday at the moment as i'm spending so much time on beach, listening to fun music and enjoying the company of friends and guess around me. So after that I had some training, then i was back on the rock wall till 9pm. After that we were back on the dance floor for more cherographed 80's dancing. The chick who dresses up as Madonna nearly didn't show up so they were going to make me do it but she showed up in the end which i was happy about. After that at about 1pm we hit the crew bar fro trinni night. Awesome regga music and lots of wine and dancing! Again, i got to bed about 4am and had to be up for 9 for training.
So today... I'm getting of the ship again till around 5pm. Then we're back on the wall a bit later...
So that's that! WOW - exciting aye?!?!? I don't know how long i can keep it up, but i'm trying my hardest to eat well so i don't get sick. Oh, did i mention the food - hhhhmmmm... They call the crew eatery - the "CREW MESS"... yeah - not cool! The food is terrible. So i've been eating salads for the past few days and my work pants are already starting to feel baggy! Luck they have the salads otherwise i probably wouldn't be eating. There is a wide selection, but the food is just covered in oil, grease and salt! Anwyay, all good! When i get off ship, it's always nice to have some normal food on the island.
My room - i'm bunking with two other girls. One i never see and the other chick is hard core - olly! She's in youth staff so works the same hours as me. We have one of the larger rooms as there's three people and the bathroom (if you wanna call it that) is probably 3m by 1.5m - this includes the show, sink and toilet. hahaha - yeah, i say no more!
Anyway, Ill sign off now. I'm not too sure what the next few weeks holds... lots of fun training and by the sounds of it i may be posted somewhere else! I"m not too bother, but i've met some awesome people. They say Majesty is one of the better ships as it's not too big and you don't get lost! Meh - i'm happy.
LOVE TO ALL
