In the habit!

Hey all,

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged. One week on ships feels like a month... hmmm so yeah, can't remember the last time since i wrote!

Things are well here in the Monarch for me. I've found a nice little routine here on board my new ship and I'm finding it easier to schedule things now that my training is all done. Unfortunately you have to do mandatory training on every ship you sign on to which is a pain in the butt.

Speaking of schedule... I have a scheduled day off this coming Monday. When I say 'day off' i mean, I'm not working till 4pm in the afternoon until passenger boat drill. We have a Kennedy Space Centre tour booked for this Monday so I'm hoping to get my name on the list and attend the centre. It will be a nice change to do something other than just go to the mall or wallmart!

We had our new sports supervisor start on Monday. His names Chris... awesome guy! I have no doubt it will be a fun contract. He's here till September. Dexter signed off as he was only relieving for Chris while he was on vacation. Chris too has been with the company for many years so I've got a lot to learn from the guy. He's looking at doing the take out for the new Oasis which sets sail in November. Both him and Radcliffe keep pestering me to do it with them cause they reckon it will be an awesome experience. Especially cause they fly you to Finland for a month before the Oasis sets sail and you work on the ship (with no guests mind you) to get things ready for when she finally sets sail. The Oasis will be named as the biggest ship in the world and is three times the size of the Monarch (the ship I'm currently working on). It will have 21 sports staff as opposed to the three we have here on board - what fun! It has two rock climbing walls, zip lines, flow riders, gold simulators, aqua fun park, a full size basketball court - needless to say, the sports deck will be massive. I'm a little undecided about it all cause I'll be going from the smallest ship in the world to the largest - yicks! This will also mean, i won't have the opportunity to be a supervisor for that contract and we'll be working 12-14 hour days and maybe more on sea days!... but that's cool! I have a feeling the experience and fun will be something else. I can imagine the atmosphere on that ship! Eeekkk! It excites me! Anyway, i'll keep you posted as to that!

What else... hmmm!

Oh - HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TOO! I got a couple little chocolates and things from some friends here on board, but no crazy flowers or gifts from any unknown secret admirers - THANK GOD! hahaha... We're having a valentine's day red light party on the back deck tonight at 11:30pm. You have to wear green if you're available, red if you're not and yellow if you're undecided. Hmmm.. i think I'll wear black to confuse the hell out of those interested - hahah! Unfortunately there is NO good potentially hotties on board the Monarch. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JODI FOR THE 26TH BABE! LOVE AND MISS YOU LOADS!

Anyway, I sign off now with a big smile as I have the rest of the after noon off. On our three day cruise we only work 9am till noon and then have the afternoon to do what we want in Nassau as we don't set sail till midnight tonight. It's an absolutely gorgeous gorgeous day outside. Hot hot hot and there's not a cloud in the sky! I'm off to hit the beach... PINCH ME PLEASE!

Miss you tons.

LOVE REE
