Well, seems my blog has now become a monthly thing. As my computer has completely karked it and i can't even turn it on, i've gotta borrow laptops and use internet cafes. Arrggg... it's frustrating not being in contact with the real world.
Things are well for me at the moment. With the six week count down on... I'm slowly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Erin's visit to the Monarch helped allot and I couldn't believe how fast the seven days flew by. We had so much fun. Swimming with dolphins, wave runner tours and a ton more. The sports staff guys were very accommodating too and let me leave work early here and there to hang out with Erin. Unfortunately we encountered some bad weather on the last few days and had two emergency sea days, which meant we didn't make it to the private island of CoCo Cay on Tuesday nor Thursday. But we did however have an overnight in the Bahamas and my old ship (the Majesty) was in till 2am cause of the bad weather as well.... So not only did I get to see my old MJ friends but we overnighted and partied till early hours off the ship! It rained most of the sea days too which meant I didn't have to work as much and got to hang out with Erin and enjoy a little R and R myself.
Needless to say i'm looking forward to coming home on 6 July for vacation. I did finally receive my next contract offer. LIBERTY OF THE SEAS!!! ;) A seven day run on the Eastern and Western coasts of the Caribbean. It's one of the biggest in the fleet at the moment. Liberty, Freedom and Independence are the three biggest at the moment being "Freedom Class". I'm stoked. It's got so many activities, flowrider, inline skating rink, mini gold, rockwall, massive sports deck and sports swimming pool. I did hear along the great vine that all people going to the Oasis must have "freedom class" experience so i'm hoping in the back of my mind they transfer me to the Oasis once I get my time up on the Liberty. Fingers Crossed. As you know, Royal Caribbean is unpredictable, so god knows where i'll end up. But as always, i'm keeping my options open. I'm going to see what things are on offer when I get home cause as you can tell... ship life is fun and all, but it definitely takes it's toll on your body. I certainly love to do another contract for the experience and travel... but i'll see how i feel when i get home. BRING ON MY NZ SNOWBOARDING TRIP WITH THE GIRLS.
I did also receive a very inviting offer to travel through Asia or Vietnam. Erin and I were talking about it when she was here. - so that'd be cool! But again, it all depends on the $$$$ when i get home.
Other than that, I'm keeping busy. We've got a new HR Manager now who's putting a ton more cool stuff into place for crew, food included. I long for the sensation of taste on the buds in my mouth these days. hahah Six weeks to go! woot.
Well, i'll write again soon. Much love.
