Day 5 without coffee or caffeine, day 29 without the toxin called alcohol – it feels soooo clean!

What a better way to start the year but to keep it very clean. I’m not a big drinker to say the least. I have the occasional drink with friends, wine, beer together with cheese and crackers – hmmm. So the question is, why do we drink alcohol? It is to get ridiculously drunk, to feel that calming and relaxing sensation, or is it because we like the taste. Oooorrr is it because everyone around us is doing it, for a social thing. I put the question to you… why do we insist putting the toxin into our body, when we know what harm it’s doing?

I’m currently training for a full triathlon. I’ll be competing at the end of March at Mooloolaba. Lots of hours of training, 1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run! I cannot wait. So I figured, why not give it a try. No alcohol for three whole months. This includes social situations. I normally don’t drink more than a few, and even then it’s more than enough to make me a little happy! So why have three, when you can have none at all. Surprisingly it’s been easier than expected. I’ve found the only way to do it is to be proud of your decisions, your dreams and your goals, be proud to tell the people around you why you’re doing something and let’s face it… if they’re not supportive, then what sort of friends are they?!?!

Something to ponder and think about ☺
