OMG - Where else but AMERICA (or Nth American I should say)

I arrived safely on Vancouver Island yesterday to a warm welcome from Jaimie Lee. She’s an old friend of mine who I met on my contiki tour back in 2004. She lives our here with her BF, Ryan in a cosy little apartment not far from downtown Victoria.

I had a gorgeous ferry ride over actually. The scenery here is like nothing I’ve seen before. Absolutely breathtaking – there are no words to describe it any other way and photos just don’t do it justice.

Anyway, so I spent yesterday in and around Vancouver. GET THIS RIGHT, I walk out of my hostel and right next door in Benz Coffee Shop, but who other than Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Phifer. I’m takin like, 10 metres from me. Mind you there were shit loads of people around them (ie film crew). I’m not exactly sure what movie they were filming but apparently they had been there for the past few days. I’m hitting myself now that I didn’t take any photos! These bloody people from Vancouver were just walking by as if they see it every day- what’s with that! So I felt stupid being tourist and getting out my camera, but hell, I should have! Sorry girls...

Anyway, so after a wonder around the city, I managed to pick up some Burton’s snowboarding jacket and pants, cheap cheap... Well it’s top of the range stuff and to get it back home you’d be looking at double.

On the way back from shopping, once again I saw Ashton next door filming, but this time he was in a chicken suit. So when the move comes out you’ll have to remember I was there for filming. One of the camera crew dudes came in to the hostel while I was checking out and said that the hostel would be in the back ground of one of the takes so yeah- how exciting.

Anyway, so Jay’s taking me around Vancouver Island today, no exactly sure where. Oh and I had my first “Boston Pizza” experience last night – awesome food. But man those Pizza are greezy but ggoooodddd!

Love to all back home, especially GRANDAD xxxx
